Ten Main Commodities Rise, June Exports Increase

Jakarta's exports are still moving erratically amid the uncertainty of the current global economic situation. After two consecutive months of declining export values, exports in June 2022 recorded positive growth. Exports this month reached US$ 996.2 million, up 39.3 percent compared to last month.
In line with export growth on a month-to-month basis, exports cumulatively (January-June 2022) also showed positive performance. When compared to the same period the previous year (January-June 2021) cumulative exports were recorded at US$ 5.6 billion, an increase of 2.7 percent.
However, this condition is slightly different from year-on-year exports. June 2022 exports contracted slightly by 1.1 percent compared to the same month a year earlier (y-o-y). The decline in export values ​​occurred in five of the ten main export commodities, especially precious metals and jewelry/gems which experienced the deepest declines. The decline in exports on a year-on-year basis was slightly dampened by increases in five other main export commodities.
