Regional Reconciliation of Construction Cost Index for 2024

Head of the West Jakarta City BPS Distribution Team, Mulyadi, together with the First Statistician, Indra Gunawan took part in the regional reconciliation activity for the 2024 Construction Cost Index which was held at the DKI Jakarta Provincial BPS Office. This reconciliation will last for two days, 10-11 June 2024.

This activity was attended by representatives from Regency/City BPS throughout DKI Jakarta. IKK data is released once a year, therefore this reconciliation activity is an important activity so that the IKK figures produced are quality, accurate and can reflect the reality on the ground in the DKI Jakarta Province area.

The Construction Cost Index (IKK) is used as a proxy to measure the level of expensive building construction in an area. The higher the IKK number in an area, the higher the costs required to construct a building in that area. IKK can also be used to compare the level of construction prices in a region compared to a reference region. One of the benefits of IKK is as a component of calculating the General Allocation Fund (DAU). The IKK figure is one of the strategic data that is of interest to stakeholders and policymakers.
